Here I am writing my very first "Descriptive " blog on my Most
Adventurous Trip to Solang Valley(near manali).I know its bit late as I lost my Dairy but now i hve got that back...so here is my post on my trip after an year..! lol :P . Well this trip or
I can say Trek has got many such memorable and adventurous moments which I can
never forget. I along with 31 members (all women, ladies or girls whichever u
like) of youth hostel were on the “National Trek to Solang Nallah”.
It was a 7 days trek, but I must say our 3 days
went just on travelling, but the rest days which were left went AWESOME..!
Here is a short description….
The Bindass Group |
Day1 : 2nd may 2012,around 11:30am
My group |
We left for Ambala from Indore by train (Malwa
Express),the train which was famous for running late. But never mind our
journey was quite smooth. In the middle of the journey I made many new frns……aboli, anuja, prachiti, shreya, vibhuti di n astha. We really had fun in train as
well, singing like dumb, playing antakshari at night.
Day2: 3rd may 2012,around 12:30 noon
We finally reached
Ambala, well it really was a long Journey. There outside the station was
our bus waiting for us with our one holiday moods escort named Bali sagar sir.We
were late coz of that malwa express :( ,there
our another journey started from ambala to Sollang Valley. In the middle of our
journey we found some snow-capped mountains all around us and we named this
valley as SOO LONG valley as it really was a big journey and valley to cover up
.Here is one hotel where we had our dinner ..
The hotel where we had our dinner |
Our Ro0m |
We reached our Hotel “Iceland” at around 1 o’clock
at night. I must say the hotel facilities were 5 stars J. The rooms were mesmerizing :D and adding up
to it was the “view” from our window. We felt the snow Breeze here inside our
room as well..i shared my room with aboli and astha. They were the best room
mates I can ever get. Now the time was around 2 am ,we all were settled in our
cozy beds as the temperature was falling, I think it was around 3 to 4 degree
;) woah..
Day3 : 4th may 2012,around 6 am
The most difficult thing in the morning is to wake
up gosh!, it was just 6 am and our escort mam was tabbing our room’s door and
we were like please give us just 5 mins more to sleep . But then somehow we
manage to get back to them at around 6:30 in the dining area for our breakfast.
It was a lil heavy breakfast with all the paranthas n butter n cornflakes with
milk. We hardly ate half of that parantha as it was soo big and I still wonder
was it aloo ka paratha as there was no aloo in it?? Lol :P the temperature was
still down in the morning :/ we were wearing like 2-3 sweaters.
I wid Shalika mam n GiriRaj sir ! |
Well our main trekking starts now . We met our 2
new escorts named Giriraj sir and Shalika mam. Our first destination was 4 km away ,a lil temple where we get to see
“shiv ling” made from snow.
Then started our first adventure which was “Rock
Rappelling” , it really seemed to be one of the easiest adventure sport but
when ur standing on the edge of the rock almost 200-300 m above the ground
,there u go crazy . I almost took 3-4 mins to settle up there and once you know
you are fully protected by all the safety measures ,you can really perform
well, same as my case :) it
turned out a good one for me ! :D
Lil tough adventure for me :Rock Reppeling |
Then 2nd was “River crossing” . I would
rate it as most easiest one. There was
nothing to panic about in that sport. You just have to carry your whole weight
from one point to another with the help of your hands and keeping your legs
horizontal with the rope..
Then later came the 3rd sport
“ZipLine”..well it was just awesome..I really would rate it in the most
adventurous sports I have done in my life…the pic will say it all.. :P
On The ZipLine..! |
wowieeee thing of my ilfe !
Well tired of all the sport we came back to our
hotel..had our dinner, and went to sleep coz we gotta wake up early in the
morning as per the instructions for another adventure sport activities.. :)
Day4 : 5th may 2012,around 6:30 am
We were all set for the next adventures…we went to
the solang ground for paraglyding..wow..
Thinking of a paraglyde really makes me sick. It
was one of my dream J which
was coming true…well talking about the solang ground,it was a very big ground where u can find all the
possible adventures like rope way, horse riding ,zorbing and many more…we climb
a little to reach for that paraglyde. There the instructor was telling us about
how to make a good start and then with
all the possible knowledge I can grab from that instructor ,I was all set (wearing
that “ajeeb” sa dress) to have the most wonderful ride of my life. He told me
to just start with a run till u reach to the edge.. and there I go…. I was a
lil afraid during the start, but when I was in the air ,the feeling just went
to awesome…..! :D this was the most Amazing ,Wonderful, Awesome and Adventurous
experience which I prefer everyone should have it once in a Lifetime…. :):):):)
The Zorbing Ball (we were inside that) |
And then
after all the adventures we were on our way to Dhundi ,our next base camp(9000
ft above the ground) serioudsly wow moment , where we actually gonna feel the
trekking experience. It was 8 kms trek from solang ground, God! We were
literally very tired :-/ but the nature’s beauty was somehow keeping us alive.
It almost took 3 -4 hrs to reach there ,in the middle of our journey our escort
Shalika mam was giving us many information about the places we were covering.
She was really very sweet ,almost about my age ,the Himalayan Beauty J . We
finally reached our camp.. we could see our lil tents.. properly arranged and
the most awesomest view, everwhere was snow. Our camp was at a lil height and we
could see the river “Vyas” running down there with its half part fully
converted into SNOW. J Then we
selected our tent ,the very first almost at the edge of that mountain :P
The instructor took us for some warm up exercise
so that we could be back with enthusiasm . We collected the woods for the “Camp
Fire”.
The Camp Fire Night: We all were instructed to
perform on something during the camp fire, our group choosed to organize “Award
Function”. Well I can just say it was really well planned and performed by us J we got appreciated by all the people J and were asked to continue the programme the
next day as well. We awarded all the people of our trek ,it was really
fantastic J. Then
came the food ,wooh…”they made noodles for us” unbelievable ! really thanked
them for that ;)
We went to our tents with our sleeping bags,It
started freezing up. We all got inside our sleeping bags and slept,it was a
really tiring day….
Day5 : 6th may 2012,around 6 am
Well today was a play-in-snow day .All were very
excited and we were supposed to go to “Hanuman Tibba”(12,000 ft. above the
ground) but coz of Avalanche we cancelled our plan. The snow was melting as the
place was getting heated up. We covered our next journey in snow. Almost after 1-2 hrs of trek we reached the
place where we actually gonna play in snow. :)Wel the place was awesome, mesmerizing and
obviously co0ol :)
Then we returned back to the camp. There many
little games were waiting up. We played all ,even tambola and I won around 50
rupees lol :P and then at night we
conducted our award function ,ate our dinner and were back to our sleeping
bags. The temperature had reached around 1 degree at night woah ! “the coldest
night” .
Day6: 7th may 2012,around 7 am
The last day of our trek ,as we left for solang again
8 kms from here . I hate that walking part L. But then again we reached our hotel, packed
our bags and there one more adventure was waiting up “River Rafting”. We were
having almost 3 hrs for that sufficient enough. We left our hotel after the
lunch at 1’o clock for river rafting in kullu. First we reached manali from our
bus and then took the local transport for Kullu ,where the adventure was going
to take place. In that local bus , I tried to talk to many local people and got
to know many things about their life style . I always love to explore new
places and people J.
And after 1
and half hrs of that journey we reached our destination.River Rafting , the
sport a little dangerous but adventurous. Well
ready with our Life jackets ,I ,Aboli and Vibhu di sat on the very first
seat and the other old people took the back seats :P and there we go..!
The boat moving up
& down with the waves ..thank god ! I choosed the first seat as
there was no fun at back J water
splashed up on us each and every time we were down . I loved this adventure .
Now we were done with all the adventures. Woah!
What a feeling it was. Now back to manali where our bus was standing. Now it
was time for some shopping yeah! J we were
given almost 1 and half hrs in manali for this ,I know its so less ,but still
we managed ha ha ! purchased a famous shawl for nani , a card holder for
dad, a”Good luck for the job” wooden kitchen for brother , cute bangles for mom
and many more but unfortunately didn’t got anything for myself and yeah “Litchi ‘s squash”too ,its really
tasty J lol :P
Okay enough of the shopping, were back to our bus
at around 7:45 in the evening. And then were heading back to Ambala. In between
at 12o’clock we visited one shop as people were not done with the shopping and even
I took the advantage and got a rabbit’s wool shawl for mom ,I still remember, I
and one of our escorts did bargaining at 12 o’clock at night , hilarious
thing. Around 1 am we stopped for dinner at another amazing 5 star hotel named
“Valley View”.
Day7: 8th may 2012,around 7:30 am
We reached ambala station at 7 in the morning
,very early then from the time as our train was at 4 pm :/
We stayed at the station in the waiting room for
almost 7 hrs Gosh !. But We were having many things for the entertainment. We
played cards for about 3 hrs . We roamed here and there. We exchanged our
emails, phone numbers etc etc….
And the good thing was Malwa was on time ,wow
somehow we got lucky :P that day .
Then the train arrived,we the youngsters were in
one coach . We played antakshari ,the only entertaining thing u can do and even
we entertained other people too :P
And there we go…..
Day7: 9th may 2012,around 1:30 pm
We reached indore J J J J I was so
happy to be back in indore but really will miss all the people of our trek.
Seen mom after 7 days ,my god I have never been
without her even for a day,but this trek
literally brought a very new experience for me ,I have learned how to live
independently J and how
to manage things and take decisions on my own ! J J
Ending up with my very first "Describing "Blog Post. I know Its
little big but then 7 days ka trek tha yaar, what you expect me to end up in
6-7 lines :P HA HA :P
